Done done and done

My portfolios are FINISHED!!!  Woo Hoo!  Nah, I’m not happy or anything like that.

I was quite happy to hear that having 20 pages for the afternoon classes was too many.  So I only needed to gather up 10 pages of work for all my students.  I had 9 classes to do portfolios for this time around.   I was smart.  I started gathering up work many weeks ago.  I gave B1 and C3 their science test today and that was the last thing that needed to go into their portfolios.

I had all the comments finished early last week.  I had the bulk of the work completed late last week.  Over the weekend, I put all the portfolios together and stapled the ones that were done.  After work today I graded those two science tests, recorded the scores and then stapled them all together.

I’m glad this isn’t hanging over my head.  The last time I let them go almost to the very deadline.  Not so much out of laziness, but rather I needed all that time to gather up enough work for all the classes.

Overall, I’m pretty pleased with how my students did.  I was especially impressed with the B1 science tests.  We went through the unit fairly quickly because I wanted to get the unit 1 test in the portfolios.  There was nothing lower than an 85% on it and there was even one 100%.  C3 scores were a bit more mixed, but nothing lower than a 70%.

Now we sit back and sort of coast into the Christmas holidays.  The C and D classes will get somewhat rearranged come the beginning of January.  So D2 is going to finish up their speaking book this week and next week.  I’ll be doing a quick science project with B1 and C3.  And the rest of my classes will continue working on their math.  Fun fun fun.
